Our client a lovely pre-school setting are looking for a Maternity Cover Pre-School Manager (for at least a year plus option to take on a perm role in future within the business) to work Term Time Only hours are : Monday - Friday 8.
45am to 3pm and Wednesdays until 4.15pm working closely with the committee and staff team in ensuring that the Preschool is progressing in an appropriate way and is run in a sound and responsible manner.
There could be a bit of flexibility on the hours.The Pre-School Manager should work closely with the staff to provide safe, high quality obligations are care for preschool children aged 2-5 years old and ensure that all statutory, legal and setting obligations are followed and met.
Specifically, the Pre-School Manager : -1.To be responsible and accountable to the Committee 2.Complete observational records and individual plans for the children for which they are key person, working with the child' parent / carer
To print off relevant photos for observational records
To take observations and photos if required of all children within the setting, not just your key children whilst in setting
Plan, do and review daily activities on a rota basis
To attend parent consultations on a termly basis
To complete required reports and trackers on a termly basis or when required for example I ams Ecat EYDJ ILP (This is not an extensive list)
To ensure planning is written up and prepared for before required date (if resources are required permission from management needs to be sought prior).
3.To help prepare and implement relevant experiences for the children :
Ensuring that it is planned in line with current government legislation, curriculum and guidance
Ensuring experiences are carried out are relevant and inclusive to all
Taking part in activities in such a way as to ensure the children are happy and confident
Help prepare and fully set out the setting before the children arrive and tidy it up after they leave
To assist in preparing and implementing snack time. 4.To Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all individuals within the setting
Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate the safeguarding of the children with regard to hygiene and equal opportunities
Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is learnt as part of your role within the setting
To provide First aid when required
To assist children in all aspects of personal care
To raise any concerns in relation to the setting or persons within to management or relevant authority
To promote the safety of the children and all persons within the setting 5.To ensure the upkeep of the records within the setting
To complete and implement any relevant legislation and ensure this is updated accordingly including risk assessments, Policies and procedures, COSHH, Early years statutory framework or documentation relevant to the setting
Records are updated and completed required by Ofsted and other government bodies including trackers and reports of children
Complete and / or support the committee in any HR relating to staff or the preschool itself such as recruitment, inductions, supervisions, appraisals, disciplinarians and any other relevant to the setting
Records of Children are completed and are up to date and relevant
Ensuring staff and committee training records and DBS’s are relevant to their role
To conduct staff meetings and any other relevant meetings with staff, parents or other outside agencies
To complete and follow through Wokingham funding including any SEN funding applied for
Finances and money handling including invoicing, petty cash, wages and relevant account activity. 6.To adhere to all policies and procedures at all times 7.
To attend relevant meetings and training, including the annual AGM and regular committee meetings 8.Liaise and encourage parental involvement with staff and outside bodies including the borough council, OFSTED, PSLA, Social services, parish council and any others required 9.
Take part in any special events, outings and visits as required 10.Instigate the distribution of the work of the running of the preschool within the team as appropriate 11.
Any other duties as deemed necessary and within reason to enable the smooth running of preschool.
