Job Description - Scrum Master & Agile Coach (18001GEY)

To support the continued growth of our, Cambridge based, software engineering function, Grapeshot are looking to expand our Scrum and agile coaching team.

Founded on pioneering research at Cambridge University by Dr. Martin Porter; Grapeshot is a contextual advertising technology firm with deep roots in the use of natural language processing, and information retrieval.

Well regarded in the global ad tech industry, we have recently been acquired by Oracle Data Cloud, from where we will continue to push the bounds of what is possible.

At Grapeshot software engineering follows agile principles. As Scrum master and agile coach your time will be divided amongst a number of our autonomous engineering teams.

The engineers will look to you to help them understand, adapt and extend our approach to software development. You will also take the lead in hosting the company wide sprint review webinar, as well as organise and lead the quarterly planning workshops.

By capturing and sharing key metrics, you will be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the engineering teams as they evolve.

Grapeshot is planning to continue its expansion of its engineering capability over the coming months, and you will play a key role in training new recruits.

What makes a great Scrum Master?

Certified Scrum Master or similar.

Deep understanding of agile principles and practice.

Passionate about helping engineering teams achieve their full potential.

Enjoy explaining and demonstrating all aspects of agile software development.

Confident facilitating meetings and workshops.

Able to persuade and influence engineers.

Thorough understanding of agile metrics.

Basic competency with scripting language e.g. Python.

Background in software engineering would be advantageous.

Familiarity with SAFe would be an advantage.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.

You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical / business skills in area of specialization.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

7 years of software engineering or related experience.As part of Oracle's employment process candidates will be required to complete a pre-
