Chemical Plant Technician

We are looking for a Chemical Plant Technician to join our team in Hull. The successful candidate will be the lead technician in a team of technical personnel working shifts on a variety of intermediate / development products which are produced from exothermic reactions using flammable, harmful and toxic raw substances.
You will co-ordinate raw material deliveries and lead some development activities within the Chemical Plant.
Essential Job Functions
To perform all activities in compliance with relevant GMP and Quality Systems standards and specifically with FDA Quality System Regulation and ISO 13485.
To apply high standards of occupational Health & Safety in the workplace to comply with company policy and procedures.
To efficiently plan and perform plant, development and delivery work during a shift and to be able to supervise the work of 1-
3 less senior members of staff.
Carry out routine analysis of raw materials, intermediate and final products to set procedures and to take the appropriate quality control action in light of results obtained or received.
Writing of protocols for project work
Co-ordinate and / or directly lead a range of development activities within the Chemical plant.
Carry out component work of development projects / activities and troubleshooting under minimal supervision.
Writing of procedures and instructions i.e. SOP,s
Sourcing / assessing / purchasing equipment, materials and sundry items for Chemical plant.
Attend meetings in Area Team Leaders absence and liaise with planning and manufacturing departments in order to fulfil customer requirements.
Assist in maintaining stock control of raw materials and intermediate products.
Assist in monitoring of environmental and safety issues related to chemical operation on the Hull site.
Hold a current driving license and hold or be able to obtain a forklift truck license.
Chemical / mechanical knowledge.
Hold a degree in science or engineering with up to 3 years’ experience in a development manufacturing or environment or Have at least 3 years’ experience at Chemical Plant Technician or equivalent and have BTEC in engineering or science.
Be able and willing to work shifts. Continental Shift Pattern 12 Hour shifts (Days& Night)
