Communications Consultant - London - Tower Place

Mercer is seeking a Communications Consultant to join the Impact team.
The Communications Consultant is a client-facing role responsible for delivering our Communication services primarily to Darwin clients, helping them engage their employees with their benefits.
What you can expect
The primary responsibility of the role is to create client communication plans whilst managing the end-to-end communication project delivery.
From the point of the initial communication consultation, the building and maintaining of stakeholder relationships, and producing and managing all client communication collateral.
We will count on you to do :
Client Communications Projects
Typically delivering and supporting several projects at any given time, work and activities include :
Supporting client pre-sales meetings
Producing sales proposals
Facilitating hub sessions’ or project kick-off meetings or workshops
Helping clients define project scope, challenges and objectives
Identifying communication requirements for the engagement of the clients’ employees
Creating, managing and delivering communication strategies for clients including approach and communication channels
Developing communication project plans, setting milestones, coordination of internal and external resources to ensure project delivery
Managing the delivery throughout the lifecycle of the communication project
Innovation and identifying trends within the communications industry
Maintaining strong relationships with clients to open up new revenue opportunities
Working to deliver the sales target set by the Impact Leadership Team
Sales and Client Opportunity Support
Supporting Mercer Account Managers ensuring close relationships with the Darwin success managers and wider Mercer account management team, the Consultant will be responsible for leading or participating in client conversations regarding benefits engagement.
The Consultant plays a supporting role in closing those opportunities, delivering additional value and revenue to Mercer.
The Consultant will also be responsible for producing the delivery of those new communication products and services, working with other teams in the business to ensure that the technology is updated to align to the changes in products and services.
Supporting the Sales Team the Consultant may on occasion be asked to provide support to winning new prospects that require consulting services as part of their relationship with Mercer.
This will include response to tenders, attending pitches, helping with the delivery of proposals and ensuring that pricing reflects the work to be undertaken.
Internal Support :
Supporting innovation the Consultant will provide support for several projects throughout the year, as agreed with the Impact Management Team, to help move the Communications Proposition forward.
The required time, resource and support will be provided by the business to empower the Consultant to deliver this part of their role and change the communications offer we take forward.
Developing methodology the Consultant will help develop the Impact Team methodology, by taking time, within their role, to review and improve our approach.
Ideas will be used to help move forward our proposition and the quality of communications we produce for our clients.

What you will need to have :
Good knowledge of the fundamentals of copywriting, including use of plain English and drafting to client requirements
Editing and proof reading
Creativity in copywriting
Ideas generation
Briefing the creative team on client requirements
Ability to explain the thinking and rationale behind the communications
Successfully monitoring and tracking financial control on each project
An understanding of audience segmentation
An understanding of data management for print production
Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
Ability to facilitate and control meetings and ensure relevance is maintained and kept to time and agenda
2-4 years’ experience in communications related role(s)
Excellent time management skills and experience in working under pressure to strict deadlines across multiple projects
Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
