Why are we recruiting?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure Team as a Systems Administrator to help us drive stability and improvements to our PayPoint IT Infrastructure while we continue to push forward with our next gen cloud technology and automation.

What will you be doing?

System Administrators will ensure automation of tasks is at the forefront of speed to deployment of new project work or existing improvements to the infrastructure.

The ideal person will have a proven track record in the installation, support and maintenance of advanced Windows and Linux Technologies and be able to demonstrate managing incidents through to resolution.

They will be able to demonstrate an understanding of Infrastructure services to an elevated level for On-Premise, and In-Cloud technologies.

Previous experience of working in the financial sector or an ability to provide examples of working in a service critical environment are advantageous.

As a System Administrator they will be responsible for ensuring the Infrastructure Services meet all regulatory requirements, namely PCI DSS, ISO27001, and Cyber Security Essentials.

This will include the introduction of standards to ensure conformity within the PayPoint environments.

Be responsible for and deliver

  • Ensure optimal reliability, availability and performance of the PayPoint IT enterprise
  • Operational support of the Infrastructure carrying out 2nd and 3rd line analysis of incidents and problems
  • Engaging with relevant 3rd party support to assist with incident resolution
  • Resolution, Root Cause Analysis, Impact Analysis and Escalation, should be carried out in a timelymanner with detailed documented in the ticketing platform
  • Subject Matter Expert for IT during incident recovery
  • Delivery of infrastructure projects and ensuring new services are engineered according to the needs of the business and are compliant with production standards
  • Ensure compliance and operation within all company controls and security standards
  • Proactively drive automation of infrastructure tasks to guarantee the outcome of repeatable tasks
  • Identifying improvements to existing process ensuring that with agreement, these improvements are implemented in line with PayPoint standards
  • Continual service improvement through best practise and new and innovative technologies
  • Ensure consistency and quality of the service so that all support tickets are progressed in line with operational service levels
  • Review and approve changes in line with the Change Management Process
  • Implement, maintain and test PayPoint DR services as and when required to do so
  • Update documentation, policies and procedures as well as ensuring that they are followed
  • Cover on call for 1 week out of 4 per month
  • And any other duties where applicable
  • What would we like from you?

    Proven Production Support or Project Delivery experience

    Excellent troubleshooting skills

    Proven ability to document and explain designs

    Detail orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills

    Proven technical experience in supporting enterprise class infrastructure services

    Expert Knowledge in the following -

    Windows Desktop and Server OS’s (Ideally from 2012 to 2019)

    Full Windows Stack including DHCP, DNS, AD

    Linux (Ideally Debian and CentOS)

    Microsoft Exchange 2013 / 2016

    Microsoft Office 365

    Microsoft Azure Stack from Compute, Networking, to Azure Active Directory


    Proven support experience in the following


    System Center (Including SCCM, SCOM, VMM)

    Cisco, Routers and Switches

    Microsoft SQL

    Proven experience of IaC Technologies (Ansible, Terraform, etc)

    Understanding of security in relation to network, server, applications, data and databases

    It would be great if you already have

    PCI-DSS compliance

    Proficient in PowerShell Scripting and Bash Scripting

    Windows Storage Spaces and Storage Spaces Direct

    HPE Hardware

    Design of Highly Available Systems

    Experience in -

    Delivering projects and solutions from inception to completion

    Microsoft DevOp’s (Deployments and CI / CD Pipelines)

    Azure ARM Templating

    Azure Multi Factor Authentication and SSO Technologies

    Any experience with the following software products :

    Meraki Wireless

    Microsoft System Centre including SCCM, SCOM, and VMM

    Microsoft AutoPilot
