Standard Life Aberdeen plc is one of the world’s largest investment companies, and we are built on a long standing culture of caring about the future and making a positive impact.
Together we invest for a better future. We do it to make a difference to the lives of our clients and customers, our employees, society and our shareholders.
Our strategy is to build a vibrant and value-creating purpose-led organisation, with the current and future needs of our stake holders at the heart of all we do.
The Accounting Policy & Advisory team is a small strategic team that provides accounting advice and guidance in respect of projects and initiatives.
You will be required to explain the impact of projects and initiatives on the IFRS income statement, balance sheet and adjusted profit.
You will be required to develop strong working relationships across finance as a whole and you will be at the centre of the decision-making process.
As a listed entity it is very important that SLA plc is able to report its performance to the market in a clear way which makes it easy to understand the key drivers behind the performance of the business and the opportunities that exist for its development.
The Accounting Policy & Advisory Team will be involved in designing how we report to the market and you will be expected to contribute to the enhancement of the reporting.
The team is also responsible for monitoring, assessing and managing the implementation of the IFRS requirements on behalf of SLA plc and providing training.
The Group Financial Accountant will report to the Accounting Policy & Advisory Manager in the Group Reporting team.
