Job Description Summary :

To maintain, develop and enhance the IT service that supports Havas helia

To assist and support the Head of IT in embracing and promoting new technologies within Havas helia.

To support all staff in the usage of the IT services available from the Computer Centre

To provide a helpful, pro-active, forward thinking and efficient IT service to all stakeholders within the Cirencester offices

Ensure optimal performance is delivered by the server hardware including any associated application software which may require liaison with departments.

Support departments in their hosting requirements and work with them to ensure their deployments have an appropriate running environment which meet on-going and future demands.

  • Ensure optimal performance is delivered by desktop and server
  • hardware including any associated applications
  • Respond and treat any active infrastructure monitors
  • Using the correct approach to resolutions to bring about the most efficient solutions.
  • Support

  • To ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritising, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests.
  • Assist in helping the production teams meet Havas helia’s client SLA’s
  • Field incoming help requests from end users via helpdesk, telephone and e-mail in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organisation.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop and server level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Maintenance

  • Structured cabling system changes for both computer and telephone network
  • Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.
  • Prioritise and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to other, appropriately experienced, colleagues.
  • Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Contribute to and support the Havas helia ISO27001 and data governance process
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover for the Head of IT
  • Provide out of hours support when required
  • Any other duties assigned by Head of I.T.

  • Always mindful of a professional, quality, consistent and accurate approach to any solutions delivered
  • Provide a helpful, pro-active, forward thinking and efficient IT service to all stakeholders within the Cirencester offices
  • Free flowing communication to the team and wider business
  • Ability to prioritise work load appropriately for the good of the business
  • Sensible planning of any project rollouts to reduce impact on business activities
  • Representing the Head of I.T. in his absence with a knowledge of what needs to be done.
  • Stay up to date with relevant technological developments that may have an impact on or are impacted by the marketing industry and related activity
  • What you will bring to the team

  • Recognised IT qualifications
  • A vocation and hunger for IT
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to use and understand scripting or development langauges
  • Basic Linux experience
  • Web hosting deployment experience
  • Windows server (Active Directory) based operating systems including deployment, upgrading and maintenance
  • Security systems and setup as relavent to firewalls and servers
  • Apple Mac skills
  • Microsoft SQL server skills would be an advantage
  • Five years experience within an IT support environment
