We have a fantastic opportunityfor a multi-tasking Handy Person to work within Kilburn Grange Children’sCentre. The main objective of this rolewill be to ensure all aspects of building maintenance and minor repairs arecarried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and Councilprocedures.
Additionally you may be asked to cover the main reception. Theideal candidate will provide a flexible, responsive and high quality serviceincluding carrying out all minor repairs at the setting (i.
e. repairs to toilets,toys, locks, furniture, putting up shelves & noticeboards and changinglightbulbs) and undertake small-
scale painting and decorating tasks i.e. smallrooms, walls, etc. In addition gardening and cleaning windows. This role willalso require the post holders to undertake work that requires physical effort,i.
e. lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sweeping and bending.
This post is exempt fromthe Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
The ideal candidate will havestrong customer service and communication and numerical skills both written andoral and will be able to engage and resolve a wide range of maintenance issuessuch as cleaning, repairs, small-
scale painting and decorating and gardening.You will have a good working knowledge of basic maintenance techniques and anexcellent understanding of health and safety at work.
You may be required toundertake work that requires physical effort, i.e. lifting, carrying, pushing,pulling, sweeping and bending.
