Job Overview

MediaCom are looking for a Director to work in our I nsight team. We are a 1 2 -people strong, award-winning insight team embedded within Systems Intelligence at MediaCom.

Systems Intelligence (SI) houses all the data, effectiveness, insight and technology specialists within MediaCom. The SI team has one purpose - to ensure the best use of data within media planning.

You will play a key role in shaping the overall strategy and leadership of the I nsight team; working with the Head of Insight to set the team vision, goals, and objectives to be aligned with the agency vision and being responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the team vision / objectives.

You will also lead the team in integrating and collaborating with the other teams within Systems Intelligence (Business Science and Data & Tech).

You will be ultimately responsible for ensuring high standard of the team's work whilst ensuring that financial objectives are met, and team resource is effectively managed.

You will work with Business Directors in the planning teams to identify and develop new opportunities for client projects or added value projects and look beyond the obvious to identify new revenue streams and other parts of the business that we can work with.

You will build strong relationships with senior MediaCom stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and media owners and represent MediaCom at industry events and on industry bodies and panels.

  • What would you expect to achieve in the first 3 month s?

  • Gained a good understanding of how the agency operates / the overall business pressures and how our team's vision / goals fit with the agency vision
  • Started to establish strong relationships with Business Directors and identify new business opportunities
  • Built a strong working relationship with the team and have oversight of each team member's career development plan, KPIs and training needs
  • Taking an active role in the leadership team, owning and driving forward actions to help the team work towards its KPIs
  • What will you need ?

  • A passion for all things insight!
  • Expertise in qual and / or quant research and a good understanding of both qual and quant research methods and how they can be applied to effectively answer key client questions
  • Good knowledge of how non- survey-based data sources ( e.g. social, behavioural data) can be used alongside more traditional methods
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Excellent communication skills - able to present complex ideas in a clear and engaging way
  • Proven strong leadership and exceptional people management skills - we're looking for someone who can motivate, inspire and develop the team
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to think creatively about commercial approaches
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with senior MediaCom management, clients, research suppliers and media owners
  • Perspective on new offerings / tools in the market and broader market / industry trends to inform NPD and thought leadership research opportunities
  • Confidence, gravitas, and accountability
  • Sound judgement , delivering solutions and decisions that have a positive impact on MediaCom or client business
