    Job Purpose

    The DevSecOps Senior Engineering Manager (Solutions Engineering) is a leadership role and will be responsible for building and delivering our DevSecOps strategy, governance, frameworks and distributing our DevSecOps capability.

    Leading a team of dedicated professionals to meet our customer centric delivery model, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency is at the forefront.

    The role holder will be responsible for engaging and building a strong partnership with our internal product teams and external suppliers to ensure that we are aligned and focused together in delivering successfully to our customers.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Embedding DevSecOps culture and behaviors, owning the solution, platform strategy and roadmap to establish, build and maintain DevSecOps good practice.
  • Focusing on delivery, effectiveness and efficiency utilising Tools, Best Practices, Process and Team.

  • Working with Key Stakeholders to inform strategy and optimize delivery within the ESO environment
  • Facilitate and drive continuous improvements together with relevant stakeholders, making sure you optimise for the organisation
  • Assessing Tooling for suitability and adaptability
  • Defining, Refining and Optimising technology delivering the DevOps Tool chain for the full software development cycle.
  • Resource Planning, management, and development
  • Feeding into Product User stories and owning the technical backlog and associated processes for a DevSecOps capability.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, while ensuring that quality and process are adaptable to target both secure and highly secure (CNI) environments
  • Budget and forecast management
  • Proactively managing the DevSecOps engineering resource training and development plans.
  • Partnering and managing a series of external suppliers to ensure we are well supported.
  • Experience Required

  • Demonstrable successful experience in delivering DevOps including strategy, governance and frameworks in a software development leadership role
  • A thorough understanding of DevSecOps Culture, Process and Tooling
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to build diverse high-performing teams and optimise team performance and development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, succinctly, accurately, with clarity and appropriate level of detail.
  • A thorough understanding of Agile Methodology for software delivery, including Kanban, Scrum & SAFe
  • Experience of working with cloud-native architectures, microservices and open APIs.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders.
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level in large, complex blue-chip organisations, demonstrating strong verbal and written and interpersonal skills.
  • Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
  • Experience of working in a matrix line management environment.

    A competitive salary between £65,000 £85,000 dependent on capability

    As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
