The Service Improvement Lead will have expertise in improvement, performance delivery and collaborative consultancy. They will have significant experience in urgent and emergency care / elective care and may also have a deep specialism in a particular professional discipline (e.
g. nursing, physiotherapy, paramedics).
They will come together with other improvement managers / senior improvement managers in a multidisciplinary team to provide expert guidance and direct support (through coaching, recommendations, facilitation and advice) in the delivery of key NHS standards.
The post holder will provide expert advice to deliver appropriate change programmes within H&SC Systems and promote the uptake of best practice initiatives that promote excellence in client systems including :
They will work with senior managers, executive directors and senior clinicians from all organisations that commission or provide NHS funded care across England (Health & Social Care Systems (H&SC Systems)) and will be responsible for designing and delivering tailored programmes and providing expert subject and improvement advice to senior leadership and boards of H&SC Systems.
The post holder will work within the H&SC Systems to drive the reduction in variation of care delivery by highlighting good practice, driving its systematic implementation and deploying improvement methodologies to ensure continuous improvement.
Service Improvement Leads will carry out expert diagnostic reviews and produce high quality reports with clear recommendations that inform the development of H&SC Systems improvement programmes.
They will work alongside clients to drive the implementation of the recommendations to deliver sustainable change and increase system resilience.
They will work as part of the wider North regional team, providing advice and coaching to clinicians, managers and other staff to drive the delivery of NHS constitutional standards, patient safety, efficiency and innovation.
