Purpose of the role :
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our General Assembly team to produce the new range of McLaren high-performance sports cars.
Principal accountabilities :
Represent the McLaren brand by ensuring your appearance, performance and behaviours adhere to the McLaren values at all times.
Use systems such as SAP to understand and follow detailed work instructions relating to the assembly of bespoke vehicles.
Ensure that all station operations on each vehicle are completed to the highest standard of quality.
Identify and solve any problems, escalating them to your zone team leader where necessary.
Ensure that all operations are completed to the required timescale.
Maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment at all times, performing 5S duties as required.
Identify, and participate in, continuous improvement activities where possible.
Knowledge, skills & experience :
Automotive or manufacturing experience is essential.
Experience of working with hand and power tools is essential.
A strong mechanical knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
Experience of working as part of a team and working to allocated timescales is desirable.
Personal attributes :
Must be punctual, willing to learn and have a naturally strong work ethic.
Needs to have a keen eye for quality with strong attention to detail.
Will be able to communicate cross-functionally and escalate issues appropriately.
Has the drive to continuously improve their performance.
Needs to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
Ability to work on own initiative is a must
Ability to provide solutions to faults within a reasonable time frame.
Must have a flexible approach to working hours, as this role includes shifts and weekend work.
