We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Relationship Director within Santander Business located in London.

Your role will involve helping businesses in your local markets to prosper. You will have wide ranging conversations with both existing customers and prospects of Santander, with a turnover of up to £6.

5m, and equivalent entities.

Through those conversations you will identify ways that you can support them on their journey, providing excellent customer service and helping to build Santander Business' presence in your local market.

As a Business Relationship Director your main responsibilities will be

  • Support in becoming the SME bank of choice by deepening customer relationships through positive engagement and delivery
  • Meet and exceed the expectations on productivity and commercial metrics
  • Originate new customer relationships and contribute towards the bank’s objectives of increasing market share , primacy and customer loyalty
  • Prepare for, participate in and contribute to reviews and development sessions with your line manager and regularly update / review your PEP
  • Raise the profile of the Santander brand within the local community and via the Breakthrough programme
  • Develop and execute a local business development plan
  • Act as the first line of defence in the active management of credit, operational, reputational, AML risk.
  • Act as a senior and active figurehead within the business community by developing a personal network within the local business and professional community including the local University partnerships
  • Prepare for, participate in and contribute to reviews and development sessions with your line manager and regularly update / review your PEP
  • Minimum skills and experience required

  • Proven business and product knowledge across all potential customer solutions
  • Detailed and accurate analysis of company / business financial reports. With the ability to both identify and, where appropriate, mitigate all types of associated risk.
  • Excellent relationship management skills proven experience within a customer centric role would be highly beneficial
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven experience in Business Development
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise work and successfully execute the delivery of commercial metrics.
