Role Summary :

A vacancy exists in UK for a Sales Manager to grow the Control Solutions business in the UK & Ireland territories. By leveraging direct, other GE (the broader BHGE and Power Services Sales teams) and indirect channels, the successful candidate is expected to increase market share, develop high level customer relationships, understand customer CTQ's and will ultimately be responsible for business growth in the assigned region.

Essential Responsibilities :

The Sales Manager develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to effect short-

term and some long-term business goals.

  • Provide leadership for sales to assigned customers through the formulation and execution for strategies and plans that capitalize on the customer’s strengths as supplemented by GE’s products and services
  • Build customer relationships with the assigned customer for sales
  • Support the assigned customer in sales activities and provide assistance to the customer in identifying new opportunities
  • Coordinate activities and provide leadership to establish individual sales strategies obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing, and delivery
  • Negotiate contracts as required
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base
  • Work with Marketing to develop project specific sales strategies for assigned customers
  • Make recommendations for continued growth
  • Qualifications / Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED and proved experience in a sales, support, or marketing field) or equivalent knowledge
  • Some experience in Sales, Customer & Product Support or Services
  • Knowledge of Controls-Automation products, markets and applications
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territories
  • Desired Characteristics :

  • Field / Operational experience on Rotating Equipment Instrumentation, Control and Automation
  • While location within UK is flexible, candidates based in London, Aberdeen and Skelmersdale areas will be preferred
  • Locations : United Kingdom; Leicester, home based
