Our electronic manufacturing client is looking for a Quality Manager with a good technical background in surface mount technology (SMT).

The quality managers responsibilities include :

  • ISO system maintenance
  • Process improvement
  • Internal auditing
  • Design for Manufacture
  • Managing customer returns
  • KPI / Data analysis
  • Investigations - ICARs and 8Ds
  • Customer liaison
  • You will be kept away from day-to-day production and output to focus your attention on quality assurance and process improvements.

    Key to the role is having the quality and process engineering skills relevant to electronic manufacturing to help deliver significant improvements.

    Overview :

    Candidates will need to work well with Operators, Engineers, Managers, Directors and Customers to pull together the knowledge and resources we have available.

    The candidate will need to bring expertise that will both challenge us and help us to improve. You will need to be hard working and tenacious as you will be hands-on, working independently and with our teams.

    We have a mature QMS and procedures. Maintaining our good record with BSi is essential. Customer issues as and when they occur require investigation and then corrective and preventative actions taken.

    This requires data, analysis and a level-headed approach to problem solving.

    Six Sigma skills would be ideal along with the interpersonal skills to engage with our customers directly. Good processes deliver good quality.

    You will need technical knowhow and leadership to oversee process improvement throughout the whole business. Lean manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma are tools we will want to see deployed.

    This position has the potential to develop into a Director level role within 5 years. Consequently, candidates need to demonstrate ambition, competency and capacity to enable this progression Delivering Success

  • Ambition, competency and capacity to develop
  • Proven track record within electronics manufacturing that matches the role
  • Training / qualifications in Six Sigma and or Lean Manufacturing
