Think Accountancy & Finance are working with a rapidly growing business based in Hemel Hempstead looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their small, close-knit UK finance team.

The primary focus of this role is to manage all Accounts Receivable functions within the department along with general Finance support.

The role therefore requires someone who is accurate, methodical, systems literate and with strong Excel skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to take on a varied role with lots of responsibility where you will learn, progress and develop your experience.

  • Overview of duties;
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable ledger
  • Reconciliations to include bank recs, supplier statements
  • Investigating non reconcilable errors
  • Billing
  • Credit control
  • Bank postings
  • Assist with updating the fixed asset register
  • Candidate requirements :

  • Previous accounting experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate confidently at all levels both face to face and in writing
  • Able to work to tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel essential
