The head of Technology Operations will be accountable for overseeing all 24 / 7 critical and non-critical market facing IT application support and infrastructure monitoring for the LSEG.

They will report directly into the Global Head of Infrastructure who is based in London. They will lead and manage a globally dispersed team of circa 150 staff, of which 50% are vendor / off-

shore resources. Key Responsibilities. Manage the escalation process for incidents ensuring quickest MTTr and MTTR (respond and resolve) for our services.

Provide hands-on technical leadership and operational excellence. In conjunction with IT Service Management practices, develop processes, standards, tooling to drive operational efficiencies and improve controls.

Engage in a proactive approach to resolving data production issues. Forge trusting relationships with infrastructure, testing and development teams.

Creation of standard quality metrics for the Operations area. Provide clear communication channels with the primary business and technology heads.

  • Participate and play an active role in the wider production services strategy which includes : improving financial efficiency;
  • reviewing operational processes and improving efficiencies; standardising the front to back environment. Consolidate operational functions from newly acquired companies whilst ensuring service delivery standards are maintained or increased.

    Represent the Technology Operations area for audit activities covering the above areas of accountability. Responding to the on going automation of key trading platforms.

    Key Behaviours and Skills Required. Proven track record as a leader in IT Operations within Financial Services and for keeping costs under review whilst maintaining an outstanding service.

    Degree or Equivalent. Knowledge of enterprise level operations monitoring, understanding of the IT principles for a medium / large enterprise including networks, infrastructure, security and applications.

    Previous experience supporting large scale enterprise solutions using Microsoft Windows and Linux technologies with multiple database and middleware products.

    Leadership, communications skill, enthusiasm, mentoring and coaching, influencer and networking. Service Excellence. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant competency and experience in the following areas.

    Business Partnership. Ability to quickly establish senior relationships and influence key business leaders and the wider technology management group.

    Business knowledge. Extensive experience of Financial Services e.g. Capital Markets, Indices, Clearing and Market Data. Ability to be hand-

    on with both day to day technical queries and contribute to the technology strategy for the Production Services area. Leadership : .

    Demonstrate a track record of running a large, globally dispersed production services group. Manage and lead a significant off-

    shore / vendor team. Team building and performance management. Process Excellence. ITIL based processes are at the core of our operation, this role has group ownership of the incident process which must be world class, universally understood and followed.

    Innovation. Contribute to the wider Technology agenda to bring innovative ideas to add value to the overall agenda of financial efficiency and standardisation.

    Cost & Control Management. The successful candidate will have a track record of success in cost and control management and experience of managing a large annual budget, circa 15 million.
