More about the role :
Comply with all client and company health & safety procedures and standards at all times including adherence to food information regulations and food safety checks
Understand and comply with all the directives given by the executive chef or team leader
Run a section of the kitchen to the required standards
Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standards and portion specifications within your section / speciality
Directing the tasks and training any commis chefs or kitchen assistants or junior team members working in the kitchen
Be prepared to work in front of customers and serve customers
Be able to confidently run any section of the onsite kitchens and pot / plate washes
Be prepared to work at other sites within the portfolio for events / holiday cover
Ensuring food is recovered and stored correctly to minimise waste
Assist with the processing of food orders
Assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries
Responsible for the cleaning of food preparation areas
Who you are :
Strong professional craft skills - able to prepare complex food dishes in a refined organised way
5 or more years experience in a similar role
Passionate about working in a food service environment and delivering excellent service to clients and colleagues
Able to work positively with others as part of a team and as a lone worker
Excellent communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Able to adapt quickly and sufficiently to an ever-changing food offer and working pattern
NVQ Lvl2 in professional cookery or equivalent
Basic food hygiene
Experience in mass catering and hospitality / fine dining
