Mechanical Project Manager

Aims & Objectives

  • To lead and manage projects safely provide a quality service to our customers throughout Bristol and South region whilst delivering on projects, cash-backed profit for the business and helping support growth of our client base.
  • To deliver construction schemes driving a Safety first culture
  • Drive a high performing culture across our projects driving our site teams and supply chain
  • To understand and liaise with all Integral customers to safely provide a quality service to throughout South East region building long term relationships and growing Integral Building Services.
  • Deliver projects to programme and commercial targets as set by senior management team
  • Ensure high quality of installation by sub-contract partners to deliver on time, first time and achieve engineering excellence’ on every project

  • To lead your team to deliver the company’s management expectations successfully across all key areas of the project, managing and supporting the individuals and team that are under your control to meet and exceed business performance targets.
  • Ensure Integral forms and processes followed in line with main contractors documentation
  • To identify and develop profitable opportunities through the Procurement opportunity prior to the project commencing. Increase the profitability of the project through Procurement and VE opportunities.
  • To enhance the strength of Integral M&E / Building Services contract delivery to ensure highest standards of quality are maintained in accordance with programme delivery
  • Build relations with client PM and delivery team
  • Produce project reports both internal and external
  • Ensure compliance to all Integral UK policies during the Project Installation and during PC handover.

    Responsibilities

  • Drive a safety first culture on site through dialogue, support of H&S team on inspections and challenged any non-conformance by operatives
  • To deliver financial targets to meet established objectives, this will include the reporting of financial status with the aid of the Site Commercial team into the Operations Manager and Managing QS.
  • Deliver project in line with the contract and target construction programme
  • To take responsibility for the overall performance of the Project team.
  • To lead, motivate and develop the site based team.
  • To lead the relevant site based project team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Engineering standards.
  • To ensure works are carried out to high standard complying with relevant British Standards and codes of practice.
  • To manage the provision of technical support to the contract.
  • To obtain and support the training for the site team.
  • To carry out staff appraisals for direct reports setting out training and development programs as required.
  • Manage tech sub process during pre-construction in accordance with IRS / DRS and project engineers
  • Drive the design team to achieve a compliant design for each project in line with deliverables schedule from client
  • Maintain a close working relationship with commercial, engineering, estimating / work winning and Support teams, ensuring cohesion when entering into a new Project.
  • Deliver a clear and defined development strategy that aligns with the guiding principles of Integral as a whole.
  • Assist in final contract negotiations prior to contract award (including such matters as commercial and engineering matters.
  • Provide engineering support (Mechanical or Electrical) as necessary to the business should workload demand in other areas or other new works.
  • To take responsibility for the overall performance of your team.
  • To develop customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • To lead, motivate and develop the management and site based team.
  • Ensure full compliance with the project programme.
  • Produce fortnightly reports to the client.
  • Produce and present monthly reports to Integral Senior Management team.
  • Ensure projects are completed snag and defect free.
  • Qualifications & Experience

    The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are :

    Essential

  • The successful candidate will be qualified to at least HNC level in Electrical / Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or recognised equivalent; and will possess :
  • Leadership experience combined with good Mechanical and Electrical technical knowledge
  • A proven track record of delivery within the M&E installation sector
  • Proven ability to deliver projects upwards of £5m M&E value
  • Experience managing large site based team.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve
  • High level of self-motivation, organisational ability and drive to meet deadlines
  • Commercial Aptitude.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • SMSTS
  • Asta / Microsoft Project
  • Proven accounts and financial management track record
