The role
of the People Partner is to work in partnership with leaders and colleagues to build an engaging, inclusive and high-performance culture.
They use their expert HR knowledge, business acumen and partnering skills to ensure we deliver strategic people strategies that build capability and meet our organisational priorities.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to identify, align and drive operational and strategic HR priorities. This includes partnership on change management, workforce planning, talent management and succession, recruitment, organisational design and effectiveness, engagement and culture, employee relations, and diversity and inclusion
Bring together business understanding and HR expertise to identify opportunities to strengthen people approaches and organisation design
Coach, advise, challenge and collaborate with people leaders on all people leadership approaches and application of employment law
Support the delivery of the colleague life cycle e.g. new starters, leavers, moves and payroll
Through building trusted working relationships, act as a trusted partner for sensitive or complex people issues, providing employee relations advice where needed
Act as an escalation point for complex cases from People Advisors and build capability for self-serve in the future
Use people data and analytics to provide people insight to the business which informs decision making
Keep up to date with external thinking and best practices, using them to inform recommendations and strategy
Line manage, coach and develop a People Advisor
Skills & Experience
Experience of partnering with Senior Leaders and across the full spectrum of HR
Experience in other HR specialisms is desired but not essential
Strong consulting and coaching skills, with the ability to tailor communication style to work with stakeholders at all levels
Effective at influencing, facilitating, presenting, mediating, and problem solving.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
Management experience is desired but not essential
