Our Credit Reference Agencies (CRA) team which is responsible for shaping and influencing the management, governance, and utilisation of bureau data within each function of the bank.
As an Analyst in our Credit Reference Agencies team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on an exceptional variety of analytical projects spanning all functions of the Bank.
In this role, you’ll be managing key relationships across the bank, ensuring that controls and procedures are in place, and be providing an efficient and effective shared service for the Bank and the wider Provident Group in the areas of customer and commercial insights, business information and data presentation.
Reporting into the Senior Manager, CRA your specific responsibilities will include;
Support with the management of the relationships with the three main UK Credit Reference Agencies (TransUnion formerly known as Call Credit, Equifax and Experian)
Support the control framework within CRA (bureau) data utilisation and processes
Manage monthly service reviews with all three CRAs to ensure Vanquis is kept up to date on the latest developments in new data sources and software, to retain a competitive advantage.
Keep informed of the relevant rules and regulations to ensure all scorecards, strategies and services within Vanquis Bank are compliant, specifically the Principles of Reciprocity, the Principles for the Reporting of Arrears, Arrangements and Defaults, and GDPR
Initiate and deploy detailed MI on incoming CRA data across each stage of the credit lifecycle to ensure data content is stable and as expected
What you’ll bring to the team
Working in Data and Analytics at Vanquis isn’t simply about being good with numbers or being a technical expert. You’ll be partnering closely with colleagues across the business;
giving live advice and striking the right balance between collaboration and independence of thought.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with :
Relevant experience at a Credit Reference Agency or in personal / retail financial services
Extensive knowledge of Credit Reference Agency services, data, scores and characteristics
Proficiency in SAS / SQL with database extraction and reporting experience
The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and able to translate technical and complex detail into easy-to-understand information
Extensive knowledge of relevant financial services legislation and regulation
Knowledge of Credit Decisioning Systems, e.g. FICO OM, Triad, Blaze Advisor, Experian Power Curve.
