    About The Role An exciting new opportunity has become available at our Head Office for a Food Production Chef Apprentice to join our busy catering team.

    This is a Monday to Friday role with lots of opportunity for learning, progression and development.

    The working hours are Monday- Friday 07 : 30 - 14 : 30 .Your role will be working as a production chef across the two kitchens preparing varied meal services to cater for the diverse and large work force whilst ensuring food safety practices are adhered to and an awareness of the differing dietary requirements.

    There will be a time focus for each meal service which will require a practical, active and efficient approach. You will work across different functions within the kitchens all supported by your workplace mentor and training provider. Duties will include :

  • Receiving and organising food deliveries and storage
  • Food preparation and cooking (varied and will progress throughout the apprenticeship)
  • Cleaning duties (after food preparation and service)
  • Serving food in the canteen
  • Ensuring front of house (seating) areas are organised and clean
  • Using varied resources and technology within a kitchen environment to expand knowledge and skills development
  • Food safety practices and recording e.g. temperature recording, cleaning schedules
  • About You Desired skills :

  • Maths and English skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Personal qualities :

  • A passion for working in the food industries, commitment and enthusiasm whilst having a willingness to work within a large team.
  • Desired qualifications :

  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
