Training For The Role
Step 1
You'll start with your initial military training which will teach you how to be a soldier - this will cover everything from fieldcraft to how to handle a rifle.
If you join as a Junior Soldier (under 17 years 5 months), you’ll do a 40-week military training course at Harrogate. If you join as a Regular Soldier (over 17 years 1 month), you’ll do the regular 14-week adult basic training.
Step 2
Next, you’ll head to Bovington, Dorset for 20 weeks of specialist training, focusing on communications, fighting from vehicles and an introduction to the AJAX armoured fighting vehicle.
You will complete your driving licence (if you don't already have it) and then move on to your tracked vehicle licence (the H licence).
You will then move to Windsor to begin your riding course to prepare you for all aspects of becoming a mounted ceremonial soldier on duty in London.

Qualifications You Could Get After Training
Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 2 or 3 including Functional Skills in Maths, English and IT.
Additional stable management, farrier, and saddlemaker qualifications are available.

Earn £15,985 during training.
When your Initial training is finished, and you join your unit as a Private, your pay will rise to £20,400
