Lead the Portfolio Finance view of the business and support standardised approaches across research and development programmes to provide robust and insightful portfolio financial analysis as part of monthly reporting, annual and long-term planning cycles.
Provide financial expertise and support the Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) Operations Lead in the role-out of the new Project Management system
Lead all aspects of finance requirements for portfolio prioritisation. Provide robust and timely portfolio analysis to the Senior leadership team to support visibility of project and portfolio performance in line with plan;
including preparation of portfolio analysis requirements for the annual Portfolio Prioritisation Process (PPP).
In support of the Head of R&D Finance and Head of Commercial Finance, lead on the inputs required to provide cross-functional and cross-
brand financial information and analytics for the Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG)
Finance Business Partner to PPM to support improved visibility of development programme cost drivers, portfolio phase reporting and investment alignment
Lead Investor Relations / Analyst half year and full-year portfolio finance reporting requirements, providing appropriate insight into the Seqirus R&D portfolio, progress and performance.
Own the Finance Project Code Master Hierarchy and Portfolio Categorisation classification in conjunction with business requirements and project evolution
Create and develop trusted partnerships across Seqirus and CSL to drive portfolio understanding, value and alignment to the business growth strategy
Finance Business partner to Commercial Operations and R&D product teams in support of Commercial Review Committee (CRC) and Product Review Committee (PRC) financial inputs
Supporting Business Case creation, evaluation and ongoing evolution of portfolio views
Support investment decisions through providing financial expertise to business cases creation and evaluation, providing robust challenge and building out key risks and sensitivities to support decision making
Working with the Portfolio and Project Management organisation to strengthen programme and portfolio visibility of financials
Champion the Business Partnering mind-set
Global strategic projects
Supporting Global Finance Strategic initiatives through input in strategic projects.
Contributing to tactical performance and cost optimisation initiative.
Learning and Development
Undertake individual and team training requirements, including tactical development activities.
Participate in developing tools, techniques and best practice approaches to support the ongoing development of the Portfolio Finance capability in support of business strategy
Skills and Experience required :
The role holder will be a qualified finance professional with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualified experience (or equivalent).
Experience of working in finance in a global pharmaceutical / healthcare organisation is desired with good understanding of the drug development life cycle and portfolio finance.
Broad business / financial experience supported by strong analytical skills
Portfolio Finance experience preferred
Good experience of project / product evaluation, discounted cashflow and scenario modelling, decision trees, eNPV
Experience of Global working with multi-disciplinary / cross-cultural teams
Demonstrated knowledge of global and corporate business context
Ability to work well with a tight deadline and dynamic environment with multiple deliverables
Ability to interact and engage with senior leaders in the business and lead and motivate non financially minded individuals
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform in an environment that emphasises collaboration and teamwork
