Do you want to support FE students (16+) with hearing difficulties to flourish in their education using BSL?

We are looking for a full time BSL Teaching Assistant who can use British Sign Language (BSL) to support a client college in Chelmsford.

With over a large number of students the new cohort of EHCP students has a number of deaf pupils entering the college. Your role will be to engage in conversation with the students by using British Sign Language, allowing them to feel less isolated and supported, check in on their wellbeing, build a relationship and support their academic achievement.

You will be supporting and relaying information from the main class teacher.

Skills and Experience Required :

  • Confident using British Sign Language to Level 2 Standard
  • Good communication skills
  • SEN Teaching Assistant, support or care work are all beneficial but not essential
  • Role Benefits :

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
