This is a part-time Associate Tutor post offered for the academic year 2019-20 and the following academic year, starting as soon after 1st July 2019 as the successful applicant can be available.

The post is for 3 sessions per week, which can be worked flexibly. Payment is made at the General Practitioner Associate Tutor hourly rate, currently £62.

13 per hour, and 3 sessions attracts a payment of 10.5 hours.

The post-holder will be expected to :

  • Support GP Practices who are teaching, primarily in Year 2;
  • Monitor and quality assure GP Practices to ensure delivery of a high quality educational environment and learning experience;
  • Review and develop the primary care curriculum, with particular reference to Year 2;
  • Assist with GP tutor training;
  • Contribute to the wider components of the MB BS as a whole : specifically admission interviews, OSCEs and personal advising.
  • PDTs may also be called upon to assist with teaching activities such as PBL emergency cover, lectures and seminars.

  • Contribute to the general components of the student experience which relate to primarycare learning (student support, assessment);
  • Assist with the recruitment of practices and GP Tutors; and
  • Submit an annual report to the lead PDT.
  • The post holder will be under the direction of Professor Amanda Howe (Professor of Primary Care) and will be responsible primarily for GP Practices and Tutors delivering Year 2 of the MB BS course.

    You will be an experienced primary care practitioner with current UK accrediting body recognition (GMC) with no conditions, and have undergraduate teaching experience.

    The Norwich Medical School is a Silver Athena Swan Award holder, currently working towards Gold.
