We are currently looking for an experience Continuous Improvement Engineer to work with Efficient Natural Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the 3 Year Continuous Improvement plan for R&CE.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure value is maximised throughout the organisation through the elimination of waste.
The job holder will be expected to lead departments through a combination of coaching and facilitating, implementing and sustaining improvement.
The CI Engineer will be involved in all levels of activity from foundation Lean tools, to more complex CI projects.
To support the Lead CI engineer to optimise the efficiency of the local CI team to meet business objectives.
To develop existing staff (at team & individual level) to improve their performance.
To ensure that the safety and well-being of yourself and your colleagues and the constraints of our Regulatory permits and licences are given priority over all else in your area of contribution
Working both alone and with leadership support, identifying, facilitating, and project managing continuous improvement projects throughout the business
Deliver coaching on Foundation Lean tools to all levels of the organisation to create a culture of continuous improvement meeting our Operational Excellence requirements
Analyse production data to identify opportunity within the organisation
Lead improvement projects focusing on improving product yields, reducing customer complaints, increasing revenues and reducing lead times
Identify problems, confirming root causes and implement improvements actions
Provide leadership to Departments, team leaders and team members in improvement activities
Ensure written and visual documents are completed to defined business standards
Ensure that Continuous Improvement projects are sustainable over long term time frames through the creation, training and evaluation of the effectiveness of Standardised Work
Deliver waste elimination activities that generate validated financial savings that meet business targets
Work with all departments to capture all improvements that occur, whether directly involved or not
Actively engage in the development of a resource library for Lean tools that the business can utilise
Review current best practice both internally within Johnson Matthey and externally, to ensure operations act in the most efficient manner
Delivery of the business efficiency objectives to meet the targets set in the 5-year plan
Implement a world class data collection system that provides the basic information for effective decision making
Active involvement in stock take activities as required
Are you the ideal candidate?
You must have :
The ability to communicate effectively and allow people to see all opportunities available to them and their department
Engineering Improvement Activity within work placed environment
Experience in building strategic working relationships, and working across departmental boundaries
It would be preferred if you had :
A degree in Manufacturing Systems, Engineering or similar (including CI module)
Experience or education in IT systems commonly used in Operations and Management environments
Understanding of Lean tools and how to coach and deliver them, along with experience of implementing them in the workplace
Experience of deploying improvement projects and managing the process through to completion
