ROLE OF DEPARTMENT
Finance in Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) consists of circa 100 FTE and is key due to the fact we; partner with the business to improve decision-
making, ensure all external reporting requirements are fulfilled, expertly handle our investments and give continuous support.
Finance strives for continuous improvement in all areas and aims for excellent customer service, supported by quality and efficient processes, all operating within a robust control environment.
The Finance Programme Business Analyst will be responsible for business activities relating to specific priorities and ensuring effective delivery.
The role requires an individual with a strong background of delivering major finance change programmes in the insurance industry.
THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE ARE :
Define the problem statement and desired outcome
Work closely with the priority SME to resolve and handle impacts on the existing processes, supporting the engagement with multiple stakeholders and handle existing data flows including interfaces and data consumption
Work with the Controls Lead to define changes required and ensure controls are effectively designed.
Identification of any transitional arrangements that are required to support new processes and ensure solutions to bridge any gaps
Development of Business Process Procedures ( BPP’s ), Test Scenarios and Test Scripts, ensuring alignment with the overall testing strategy / approach
Support UAT and Pre-Production testing, to ensure effective and timely testing
Ensure evidence is in place to support all finance testing activities that will satisfy Internal Audit, External Audit and Change Management purposes
Support Business Change in the preparation for Pre Change Authority Board ( CAB ) and Post CAD
Work with Internal and External Audit on any queries relating to the assurance review of the specific priority
Knowledge transfer to relevant BAU owners removing dependency on the programme team following successful delivery of the priority
Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM’s commitment to placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity.
LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times.
These requirements include Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Your understanding of insurance accounting is important, including Syndicate specific issues
Experience of major finance transformation projects
Experience in project delivery and test execution
Team player. Collaborative style. Energised and ambitious. Positive outlook and can do attitude
Good peer influencing skills and the ability to work comfortably in a complex matrix environment and to interact constructively with a wide variety of personality types
Comfortable with ambiguity
