The resourcing business partner role will support in promoting the Joseph Gallagher Group as an employer of choice within civil engineering, offering candidates a best-

practice experience through the efficient management of attraction, selection and on-boarding processes, with a focus on direct sourcing.

Rescourcing Business Partner job responsibilities :

  • Provide specialist advice on recruitment, selection, assessment activities, which include advertising all roles (for office-
  • based staff to frontline) via campaigns / adverts, such as day-in the life’ articles.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience at all stages of the recruitment process to ensure Joseph Gallagher maintains a strong reputation within the industry
  • Lead and set up diverse sourcing methods to enable effective direct sourcing of all candidates i.e. LinkedIn, social media, Broadbean, CV library, employee referrals etc.
  • Lead and provide advice to hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle. Ensuring a consistent approach to competency based structured interviewing, assessment approaches etc.
  • Assist the managers / departments to resource plan, defining resource requirements and translating this into hiring activity forecasts, including experienced hires, apprentices and graduates.
  • Monitor performance and delivery against plans and measures, taking action where required.

  • Upskill line managers in recruitment i.e. how to undertake effective interviews, CV sifting unconscious bias training to ensure a fair selection process is being undertaken.
  • Build a talent bank of prospective candidates to maintain a diverse and skilled workforce for the future.
  • Work with the Head of HR and Communications Manager to develop and communicate a strong employer brand in the construction market
  • Work with the Head of HR to source and implement an effective candidate management system
  • Represent Joseph Gallagher at appropriate events such as STEM, and other school activities to positively encourage STEM as important subject choices for future careers in the industry.
  • Attend college and university career fairs and design and manage assessment centres for apprentice and graduate recruitment.
  • Monitor and keep up to date with changes in the external market, adjusting recruitment plans and strategies where appropriate and suggesting areas of improvement in resourcing practice.
  • Lead and measure the success of the resourcing function by measuring key KPIs, such as time to hire, direct hire ratio, candidate experience, fee saving and new hire failure rate.
  • Support the Head of HR in ad-hoc projects to develop the resourcing function.
  • Resourcing Business Partner skills and experience :

  • Civil Engineer / Construction recruitment experience
  • Demonstrates business / commercial approach and understanding of business needs.
  • Proven experience of direct sourcing of candidates, through innovative resourcing solutions
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice recruitment solutions to drive a value-added service.
  • Strong stakeholder experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels
  • Experience of developing resource plans
  • Role model the Joseph Gallagher group’s behaviours and embed safety culture
  • In-house recruitment experience
