Seeking a motivated and talented Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant to join our growing Critical Care Team in Catholic MedicalCenter’s high-

acuity 20 bed Intensive Care Unit. Work in collaboration with Critical Care NPs,PAs and Pulmonary & Critical Care physicians to provide care in thischallenging and rewarding environment.

Under the general direction of the Critical CareCo-Directors and the Director, Critical Care Services and within establishedpolicies and procedures, and in accordance with the New Hampshire PhysicianAssistant Guidelines, Standards of Care and Practice established by the JointCommission and other regulatory agencies and appropriate specialtyorganizations relevant to the care of the critically ill adult patientpopulation, the incumbent performs the following functions :

Participation in daily multidisciplinaryrounds. Formulating differentialdiagnoses and developing treatment plans based on history, physical, clinicaland diagnostic findings.

Performing consultations for the Intensivistservice and following a cohort of patients comprised of medical, general surgical,and cardiothoracic surgical specialties.

Guiding the post-operative course ofpatients recovering from the following procedures : CABG, valverepair / replacement, TAVR, EVAR, and VATS.

Managing patients on mechanical ventilators,CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO.

Performing invasive procedures includingcentral venous catheters, arterial lines, PICC lines, endotracheal intubations,thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tubes, and lumbar punctures.


Graduate of an accredited MSN, MPAS,MHS or MMSc Program with at least 2 years of experience working in the acutecare setting.

ICU and CTU experience andprocedural skills preferred.

Licensure / Certification for APRNs : Must be nationally certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by ANCC orAANP. Must be a licensed APRN in NewHampshire with current ACLS certification.

Licensure / Certification for PAs : Must be nationally certified by NCCPA as a PA-C. Must be a licensed PA in New Hampshire withcurrent ACLS certification.
