We are seeking an enthusiastic Fluvial modeller to join our established and dynamic team in Swindon. The Swindon office is a hub of engineering and fluvial modelling excellence.

As a key member team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts to lead technical delivery for a diverse range of public and private sector clients on fluvial, estuarine and integrated models.

The key areas of responsibility associated with this role will be :

  • Conducting model build, calibration and verification
  • Preparing data and specifications for survey work, and evaluating outputs from flow or asset surveys
  • Identifying and evaluating the hydraulic and engineering constraints and feasibility of outline solutions
  • Writing investigation or solutions reports
  • Managing packages of work to time and budget
  • Interacting with other UK and global fluvial modelling staff
  • Meeting clients where required to discuss project findings
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Essential : -

  • Proven ability in using FloodModeller, ISIS, TUFLOW, Estry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability in the UK water and fluvial industry
  • Demonstrable knowledge in hydraulic model build and verification, and the use of models to test solutions in river networks.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in civil engineering / earth sciences and allied subjects, with strong mathematical and science basis
  • Chartered member of or actively working towards chartership of an appropriate recognised institution
  • Sound engineering and hydraulic aptitude and ability
  • Willingness and aptitude to work as part of a team
  • Desirable : -

  • Demonstrable knowledge in other software including HECRAS, InfoWorks 2D and / or ICM desirable.
