An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Mental Health Advisor to join our new Student Welfare Team.
Reporting to the Student Welfare and Participation Manager, you will be the main contact for assessing, advising and supporting students with mental health disclosures and issues as well as providing mentoring support to young people and adults.
You will provide guidance and information where appropriate, working alongside students and staff in order to raise awareness of mental health issues and coping strategies for young people.
This role will also provide a professional and confidential service in order to promote emotional health and wellbeing and enable students to overcome barriers, enabling them to then thrive at the College and achieve social and academic success.
You will have a good understanding of issues affecting students and potential barriers to accessing and succeeding in further education, along with appropriate mental health and safeguarding qualifications and sufficient experience to influence change and enhance service provision for students.
This role will be dual campus but predominately based at our City Centre Campus
