Our client a highly ranked top 100 law firm based in the centre of Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Quality Manager to join their Quality & Risk Department.

Duties will include : -

  • To help maintain the quality management system to internal and external requirements and standards
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and guidance documents to ensure compliance with quality standards and to ensure regulatory and legal compliance
  • Maintain quality records
  • Ensure quality and risk practices and objectives are adhered to
  • Work closely with key personnel to ensure quality procedures are effective and carried out correctly and in line with quality control
  • Assist managers and staff alike with quality and risk issues
  • Assist with investigations into non-conformances, risk incidents and data breach events and contribute towards implementing corrective and preventative measures
  • Update the entire firm on new and revised procedures
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing the firm’s practices / compliance through analysis of audits and compliance data
  • Provide any data as required by the Quality and Risk Manager
  • Contribute to the firm’s annual external quality audit and contribute to any other external audits and reviews as required
  • Assist with the preparation of tenders and client due diligence questionnaires in relation to quality and risk.
  • Attend client meetings where necessary to deal with issues in relation to the firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the day to day operation of the quality and risk department.
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated 2+ year’s knowledge / experience in this line of work.

    Strong organisation, IT and time management skills are required along with the ability to deliver high quality work, often during pressurised times.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as well as the ability to build strong relationships with key personnel across the board.

    The ideal candidate will have working experience of ISO 9001.

    A good understanding of Data Protection laws and a working experience of implementing privacy management frameworks would be an advantage.

    An understanding of the legal environment will be a distinct advantage.
