    We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated young people aged 16-24 who are not working but claiming Universal Credit.

    We are particularly looking for applicants who are interested in working in the public sector to make a difference and meet the needs of a diverse community.

    If you are interested in this placement with Reading Borough Council, you must be registered with Jobcentre Plus and . We are only able to accept applications from individuals who have been referred by their Work Coaches.

    Tenant Services Admin Support

    Job Purpose

    Carrying out the routine administration and general administrative support for Tenant Services.

    Ensuring Customer contacts are processed to the required Customer Service and Performance Standards (including statutory) complying with the General Data Protection Regulation and the Council’s requirements on confidentiality.

    Keeping up to date records of any contact the post holder has with customers and contacts made in relation to an account.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deal with both incoming and outgoing post for all teams in Tenant Services
  • To assist remote based officers with printing tasks
  • Home Swapper’ Database to check daily and approve those registered and awaiting authorisation.
  • Put together Sign Up Packs’ used to carry out sign ups with new tenants
  • Manage the team outlook inboxes and direct emails to the relevant people or import into I W working in-trays.
  • Send out letters to tenants in relation to anything going on in their area and manage the response
  • Send out satisfaction surveys to customers and manage the responses
  • Communicate to customers regarding Gas Servicing appointments and checking that appointments have been booked.
  • Experience you will bring to the team

  • Good basic education appropriate to the duties of the post
  • The ability to use technology and understand processes
  • To be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Outlook / Word / Excel / Teams
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • This role will be 25 hours a week, Monday Friday. 9 : 30am 15;30pm (hour for lunch)

    Salary dependent on age :

    £8.91 age 23 and over

    £4.62 Under 18
