Assistant Front Office Manager (Maternity Cover)

Position Overview

As an Assistant Front Office Manager, you will be assisting the Front Office Manage in managing the Front Office Department to achieve consistently high levels of service, efficient administration, the highest possible yield of bedroom sales, maximum room rate and occupancy, managing allocations and tight control on the handling of cash.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • To handle and to oversee the handling of guest complaints within Front Office and to take appropriate action to resolve these to the guest’s satisfaction.
  • To check the guest balances, PX accounts, paid outs and account reports on a daily basis, and to read all relevant log books including the Duty Managers handover and to follow up and action items as required.
  • To oversee the daily running of Front Office, ensuring it’s smooth operation in all areas.
  • To oversee Queue rooms to ensure the guest do not have to wait for their rooms
  • To cover the Night Manager when necessary.
  • Qualifications and Desirables

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position in a large luxury Hotel operation, London preferred.
  • Experience with using a computerised management system (Opera preferred) is essential.
  • A good command of both written & spoken English is required. An additional European language would be an Advantage.
  • An excellent knowledge of further Hotel procedures and techniques is required.
