A leading manufacturer with a global customer base, is looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team due to continued growth & investment.

As well as experience, we are looking for an individual with a "sleeves rolled up" & "can do" attitude with a demonstrable passion and drive.

You will be full of energy & enthusiasm, looking to progress your career and always thinking ahead.

You will be tenacious with a good attention to detail and have a sense of urgency.

If you have experience in a similar role in the Defence, Government, Aerospace OR Electronics sector this is advantageous but not essential.

PLEASE NOTE to be considered for this role you must be able to achieve SC Clearance

  • Purpose of Role :

    The Estimator will support the Product Manager & the Sales team in the preparation of bids, quotes and proposals (Request for Tender / Price), ensuring deadlines are met.

    The Successful Candidate will have :

  • Experience as an Estimator in a Manufacturing / Production environment
  • Commercial knowledge to be able to converse with Customers & Suppliers
  • Must be financially literate with an understanding of costing methodologies
  • Excellent business acumen and numeracy skills- capable of working with multiple workbooks and detailed spreadsheets
  • Advanced user capability in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to obtain UK security clearance (SC)
  • Responsibilities Overview :

  • To provide an online status log for all bids and proposals, distribute it to all stakeholders and manage timelines for quote delivery against customer requirements
  • To prepare financial spreadsheets to support customer bids and proposals to meet business objectives.
  • To work in accordance with the defined process and ensure that all parties provide the necessary bid information in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with procurement to understand cost changes and trigger the appropriate price adjustment
  • Keep up to date with the business product portfolio
  • Work with the team, identifying the customer product requirements including market pricing
  • Ensure internal processes and controls are in line with best practice
  • To keep abreast of legislative changes on products that may impact the business.
