Vacancy : Senior Engineer (Integrated Problem Solving)
Location : Royston
The successful candidate will contribute to delivering on operational strategy by working with all European Manufacturing sites to facilitate regional sharing, deliver training and coach operations staff within Clean Air sector.
Areas of focus will be root cause analysis (4CP) and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
whilst also ensuring regular and appropriate level of communication of status is communicated to the IPS team and on-site sponsors of the programmes.
Key responsibilities :
Drive health and safety behaviours in all engagements by setting an example and striving for continuous improvement, ensuring those who work in and manage the areas used for coaching complete risk assessments for any non-standard work.
Leading business improvement projects and problem-solving projects, in partnership with cross-functional teams, to address key improvement initiatives, strategic objectives, chronic problems, quality or performance-
related concerns and business risks
Point of contact for manufacturing facilities in the European region through their TPM deployment provide support, coaching, learn the methods with them, conduct audits and reports and sit on the regional steering committee
Train and coach shop-floor teams through problem-solving projects and TPM pilot areas, identify areas for sharing and feedback best practice
Visit manufacturing sites when appropriate to assess capability levels and deliver support, and to identify training requirements needed.
Plan travel and manage schedules with plants to ensure logistics for training are in-place
Are you the ideal candidate?
Science qualification, equivalent to A level standard or have an extensive experience in a relevant field
Organisational skills, capable of planning and executing engagements to plan
Proactive, able to independently manage workload to progress objectives of the group
Experience in manufacturing environment
Able to facilitate a cross functional working group to achieve success in face to face and remote meetings
Willing to travel internationally (EU Region Inc. South Africa - 25%)
Desirable : Six sigma Green / Black belt, PRINCE2, educated to a University Degree standard in Mechanical, Automotive or Chemical Engineering
