Summary

Reporting to the IT Cyber Security Lead, this is a hands-on role responsible for the investigation of IT security alerts and incidents, including the monitoring and maintenance of IT security tools, including Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM), anti-virus, and vulnerability management platforms to protect Davies Group services, including public-facing websites to support Group operations across all divisions.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Investigation of IT security alerts and incidents
  • Operational IT security, including the monitoring and maintenance of IT security tools, such as Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM), anti-virus, and vulnerability management platforms
  • Reviewing changes to determine the IT security impact
  • Identification and risk assessment of newly identified vulnerabilities
  • Support the IT Operations Manager to deliver risk-based improvements, including public-facing websites and services
  • Assist with IT security gap and risks assessments including PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and Cyber Security Essentials
  • Complete Internal and External Audits
  • Skills & Experience Required

  • Excellent communicator
  • A solid technical understanding and strong knowledge of IT security best practice, common attack types and detection / prevention methods, including CISecurity Benchmarks, OWASP and NIST guidelines
  • One or more relevant IT security qualifications from a recognised body, such as GIAC GSEC and ISC2 CISSP
  • Understanding of IT security risks and PCI DSS compliance within an end-user organisation

  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects to tight deadlines
  • Hands on’ approach and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience of working within regulated businesses.
  • Ability to engage key stakeholders to work towards common goals in a complex environment.

  • Experience in a fast paced, national and multi-site business.
  • You are self-motivated, result driven and business oriented.
  • Full Driving Licence and access to own transport.
  • Other Skills - Desirable but not essential

  • Relevant Security Certification desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of LAN / WAN principals and TCP / IP protocols.
  • Experience of working within regulated businesses.
