    We are currently recruiting for our Test Engineering team in Glasgow, this role will be working within a dedicated team of professional Engineers with many years of accumulated knowledge and experience.

    The Test Engineering team is responsible for designing, building and integrating first-class test solutions across the Thales Business, using a wide range of techniques and technologies.

    We are looking for a talented Testing engineer who has a background of testing electronics using LabVIEW and are now looking for their next career move into a Global company with a varied workload in a developing team.

    Key duties :

    The core responsibilities of the role will be to team with the Project (DA, Eng Mgr etc.), delivering the correct software solution for their needs (budget, timescale and required throughput).

    This role will work to deliver complex STTE / PXI solutions and will require involvement throughout the lifecycle of the solution from concept to completion.

  • To originate, specify and prove software designs to meet project operational requirements.
  • To support forward planning activities for project activities and to support the generation of relevant development plans.
  • To support the generation of project cost and schedule information and support the review of that data.
  • To ensure that project safety and airworthiness requirements are addressed in a manner consistent with company processes.
  • To keep up to date with new technologies and developments
  • To promote and ensure best practice between the Test Capability Team UK
  • To provide feedback on the efficiency and effectiveness of the development environment.
  • To participate in the validation of new tools.
  • To identify the need and propose new tools.
  • To ensure a flow of information of the main issues being addressed by Engineering.
  • To share knowledge across the Function and projects.
  • Skills and experience :

  • Experience in electronics engineering testing
  • Significant experience using LabVIEW
  • Experience with PXI, Test Stand, ARINC-429 / 1553B Interface Protocols and GPIB
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to work co-operatively with others, creating and harnessing a team spirit within and across other company sites.
  • Driven to achieve high standards, actively seeking improvement
  • Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, self-motivating and the ability to plan and organise own tasks
  • In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and / or education history for up to three years.
