Job Title : Programme Controls Lead

Location : Hybrid Working

Perm / FTC : Permanent

Hours : 37 hours per week

Salary : Up to £45,900 based on experience

As the Programme Controls Lead, you will be leading a team of 3 highly skilled project controllers, and proactively managing the implementation of planning strategies, processes and procedures.

The Programme Controls Lead ensures that there is project and programme level alignment. As part of the Programme Embedded Services Teams, you will be ensuring compliance in line with Programme Controls Function requirements, to drive consistent planning and control.

The core components of this role, will be to prepare and manage schedules, cost tracking and risk requirements. This is a challenging but rewarding role as you will be supporting the delivery team, developing and managing all capital maintenance projects in the successful delivery of their outcomes and running capital maintenance.

You need not have a background in Water or Wastewater. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

This role has a focus on risk analysis, management, and compliance. If you have previous Project Management within cost experience, and using the P6 planning tool then we would love to hear from you.

You will be :

  • A leader, leading a team, understanding the roles within the team, and working co-operatively to achieve business aims.
  • An excellent communicator with a natural ability to build credibility to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive, demonstrating a high level of initiative, and implementing pro-active planning
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, analysing costs and risks, and presenting risk mitigation measures.
  • Your core responsibilities will be :

  • Executing the planning and controls strategy within the wider Southern Water Programme Controls community.
  • Creating, maintaining, reviewing and administering Programme and Portfolio-level schedules and plans, with regular updates of the strategic programme schedules.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, to discuss the progress and status of Programme and Project schedules to address any issues that arise;
  • and external stakeholders, to ensure Southern Water’s Project and Programme controls requirements are addressed by the supply chain.

  • Driving the implementation of work and cost breakdown structures as advised by Programme Controls and utilising the required coding structures.
  • Managing a group of Planning Professionals on schedule management of complex and inter-related projects and programmes of work, including resource scheduling and the integration of cost.
  • Providing oversight of Performance, and work with Programme Controls to ensure performance insight for the Leadership team is accurate.
  • This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working. You will receive a salary of up to £45,900 per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including :
