Job description

We're seeking an ambitious and experienced digital evangelist to join our growing team. A strategic thinker who can drive forward and deliver our group vision with smart thinking and intuitive insight, whilst delivering a range of digital projects alongside the wider team.

This is a key role for the group and will be required to work with the senior leaders to grow the digital offer and oversee and manage the full digital project lifecycle across our global customer base.

  • As technical evangelist and innovator utilise your experience and insight to drive-forward the strategic vision of the group and maximise the digital experience of customer projects
  • Taking a strategy first approach to identify and develop digital products and services to offer to our client’s group-wide
  • Mentoring junior members of the digital team and raising the profile of the digital capabilities and services / products across the group
  • Work with the CSO to grow the team underneath and around you
  • Spotting and developing opportunities with our clients; turning projects into accounts
  • Assisting on New Business opportunities; leading pitches where required
  • Working with the senior team to predict revenues and forthcoming prospects, and determine and manage the financial performance of the projects and digital department
  • Identify frameworks, processes and systems that allow the digital strategy work to scale
  • Project Delivery

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth running of a range of digital projects, including virtual, online tools, apps, digital comms, animation, platforms etc
  • Acting as the conduit between the client, the technical delivery team and group Head of Technical to translate customer needs into the most appropriate solution.
  • Oversee and manage the full digital project lifecycle : from initial scoping, planning, estimating and scheduling, through to co-ordinating information architecture, user experience, digital design, coding and testing and full implementation
  • Facilitating the definition and planning of functional and technical specifications
  • Effectively planning and prioritising deliverables and resources with Traffic / Studio Manager
  • Working with the client services team to ensure our clients are receiving the highest individual attention and ensuring that we deliver on time, on budget, and on brief
  • Attending client meetings, adding value through your expertise and delivering the best strategy and delivery plan for every project
  • Working with multiple departments across the business maintaining communication across the project delivery and budget, whilst ensuring stakeholder key project milestones are managed and achieved
  • Conduct post project reviews, and attend quarterly / annual client planning meetings
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of digital including emerging technology, innovation and delivery tools
  • Person specification


  • Minimum of 8 years relevant digital experience, preferably in a marketing or agency environment (not essential)
  • Confident working alongside the technical team to specify and document technical solutions (technical background an advantage)
  • Held a senior position and has grown a digital department and / or offer through expertise and strategic ability
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity in all work efforts and be able to mobilise and persuade others
  • Prior experience working on short- and long-term projects that involve continuous analysis to support iterative deployments, measurement and reporting
  • Excellent understanding of commercial processes, and can demonstrate their delivery of consistent profitable projects
  • Experience in using both Agile and traditional project management techniques
  • Be an expert at own time management and setting own and others work goals
  • Be authoritative and efficient able to direct others confidently
  • Be able to have tough conversations with our team and with our clients, with a view to always deliver above client expectations
  • Have a very good understanding of wider usability and accessibility constraints and opportunities within the industry and the ability to draw on expertise to continually improve in this area
  • Have a very good understanding and knowledge of web standards, accessibility and compatibility issues
  • Be able to demonstrate an informed opinion about the digital marketplace
  • Be forward thinking, with an ability to innovate and leverage technology as it evolves
  • Be analytical with great attention to detail, ensuring consistent improvement in the quality of our output
