We are seeking high-performing people to join our Pensions Advisory team with a focus on advising clients in relation to bulk annuity purchases, transfers to consolidators and potential new solutions in this space.
You will be heavily involved in shaping EY’s proposition and processes for this type of work and have the opportunity to work closely with other senior EY colleagues and our clients to test and develop new ideas and solutions.

Your key responsibilities
You will lead or assist with the implementation of pensions risk transfer projects, including transfers to insurers, consolidators or other new providers.
You will bring specialist insight into wider strategic discussions with clients and contribute to the overall growth of the pensions team.
You will assist with the pursuit of new client opportunities and development of a longer term pipeline.
You will contribute to the development of EY’s processes, proposition and thought leadership in the pensions risk transfer space, partnering both with the Pensions and the Life Actuarial teams.
You will actively promote EY’s brand and capabilities for strategic pensions advice, using social media, your personal network and contributing to marketing / press materials.
You will contribute to and support EY’s relationship networks with bulk annuity providers, consolidators and other providers of pension risk transfer solutions, including potential new entrants.
You will create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.
You will work with the project heads to manage and mentor teams or parts on engagements, keeping a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, and escalate issues as appropriate.
Working closely with colleagues, you will create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

To qualify for the role you must have
Strong experience of working on bulk annuity projects, either as a consultant / broker or at an insurer with experience of working across a range of projects (size / type) both as project lead or as part of a team
Relationships with the main insurers active in the bulk annuity market
Understanding of broader pensions issues and ability to have a wider strategic conversation with a client
Strong academic record including a degree and full professional actuarial qualifications i.e. IFOA or PMI
Experienced in managing people (including internal and external stakeholders), and managing projects / engagements.
