JOB-DESCRIPTION : Position Summary
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Packaging, the Line Lead is responsible for coordinating the designated Packaging area of operation.
The incumbent must have experience and demonstrated proficiency in the complete area of operations assigned knowing how to perform each job function in the absence of staff.
Incumbent must be advanced in the knowledge of cGMP, OSHA related regulations, and overall Production SOP’s for Cadista.
Ensures compliance of standard operating procedure to the Packaging department.
Ensures operation of equipment in compliance with OSHA & company standards.
Assist in executing the daily schedule to ensure peak productivity and highest quality possible.
Assist in organizing and training of department personnel.
Maintains a strong floor presence and enforce cGMP’s, SOP’s and company policy.
Communicates completely with supervisors and managers, and subordinates.
Notifies management or other qualified personnel if specifications cannot be met.
Stops operation if quality or safety is in question.
Communicates with Inventory Control, Production Control, Quality and Lab departments when needed.
Reviews, checks and signs off on work completed by employees.
All paperwork to be accurately processed within 24 hours. Verifies weighing department counts. Manages area in Supervisor’s absence.
Provides input for preparation of employee reviews.
Directly responsible for the appearance and neatness of the work area in accordance with cGMP’s, SOP’s and company policy.
Monitors and requests new supplies as needed.
Communicates if any safety equipment is not functional and if any employee does not practice proper safety procedures.
Follows and ensures compliance of others on their designated line of all company rules and procedures.
Experience and Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree in an equivalent field of study preferred.
Progressive work experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment with proven reasoning ability & leadership skills from below.
Packaging machine operations experience and knowledge critical.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend English language.
Legible writing skills so others will understand.
Ability to speak clearly in giving instructions and presenting information.
Basic computer skills preferred with the ability to navigate MS Office, Outlook and Excel.
Basic mathematical calculation and measurement methods and practices. (Multiplication, Division, Conversions).
Proficiency in understanding weights and measures.
Good observation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to identify a problem and choose the best action to resolve the problem.
Demonstrated ability to organize, develop and build a team.
Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with other and maintain them.
Moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring reaching, bending, climbing in restricted areas or similar activities;
recurring lifting or use of lifting equipment of slightly heavy (25lbs) weight items.
20 / 20 vision with or without corrective lenses.
Operating machines and / or equipment that may result in some fatigue with much of the operations being done in a non-sitting position.
Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gowns, uniforms, boots, protective eyewear, gloves, shields and the like.
Safely and properly operates machine and equipment.
Work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machinery and materials that require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gowns, uniforms, boots, protective eyewear, gloves, shields and the like.
