Job Title : Financial Accountant

Location : Tingley

Hours : 37.5 per week

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work as part of NHS Professionals Limited within our Financials Team at our Northern Head of Office in Tingley.

The successful applicant will Report to the Financial Controller and take responsibility for delivering the annual accounts to a required standard in line with the audit timetable.

You will be the subject matter expert for accounting issues and develop financial policies to ensure a high level of financial control. Key Responsibilities

  • Accuracy of the balance sheet
  • Managing and developing the Assistant Financial Accountant and assisting in balance sheet forecasting.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller, Cash Management and Credit Control Teams as well as other teams throughout the business gathering data and providing advice on financial accounting issues.
  • A requirement to keep up to date with changes in IFRS affecting the business and advising on and implementing changes in accounting policy.
  • About The Candidate

  • Qualified CCAB or equivalent with 1 year post qualification experience
  • Active membership of the professional finance body
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
  • Recent experience of working in accounts including financial or management accounting experience and accounts preparation
  • Requires an understanding of the payroll and financial accounting function
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of accounts preparation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to clearly explain technical accounting issues.

    Pay on Appointment (Internal)

  • Moves within the same band do not attract a pay increase
  • The salary change where an individual is being promoted to a higher band should be a move to the pay range minimum. If this increase would result in a pay rise of more than 10% the expectation is that this is spread over a period of around 6 months.
  • If a salary increase to the bottom of the band would result in an increase of less than 5%, a 5% increase will usually be applied.
