  • What's the purpose of the role?

    The Bid Educationalist articulates RMs key teaching & learning solutions and their impact in an educational setting in the response to tenders as well as outside of formal procurements.

    This includes being able to talk and demo with confidence products and services including Microsoft 365, G-Suite, Management Information Systems (RM Integris & RM Finance), RM Unify, SafetyNet & the educational transformation elements of Free School bids.

    The role includes establishing the right educational and training solution in response to customer requirements, working with the relevant business units and product specialists to design a compliant and compelling solution.

    The role has to ensure the educational solution is well described and working within the team to ensure it is compliant, will meet the customer’s needs, is deliverable and will make an acceptable profit.

    What does the job entail?

  • To help win significant business opportunities, working with the Bid Manager, Sales lead & wider bid team, positioning RM as a credible and major educational organisation to partner with
  • Producing Educational Transformation written responses to customers specific requirements based on the agreed solutions and parameters of the bid response.
  • Ensuring all questions are answered to maximise compliance & scoring
  • To be able to demo all our key strategic educational products and services and successfully articulate the positive impact they can have from a customer’s teaching & SLT perspective
  • To work within established governance frameworks to develop educational transformation responses & solutions which are deliverable where bespoke requirements are needed
  • To support the update and creation of bid content in the bid library that allows RM to grow our bid response capacity if / when needed
  • On occasions deliver training and provide hands-on support with customers to ensure your skills are continually honed and you can provide first-hand reference of the impact this has delivered (in order to maintain capability & credibility)
  • What are we looking for?

  • Significant educational expertise, preferably with a teaching & school leadership background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Confident interpersonal skills, able to effectively collaborate with and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate written communications in a persuasive and compelling form to meet the tender compliance criteria.
  • Well organised and a self-motivated team player.
  • High level presentation skills to a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent computing / ICT skills alongside being comfortable learning and demoing educational software platforms (such as Microsoft 365 / Google workspace & key RM software platforms (training will be provided)
  • Experience / awareness of public sector procurement processes
  • Planning & organising skills
  • Good judgement and decision making
  • Flexible can-do attitude with a willingness and ability to adapt within the role
  • A passion for the education sector
  • Ability to understand RM’s key strategic solutions and delivery.
  • Ability to understand customers’ key drivers and their impact on solution design.
  • Ability to understand of key business drivers and principles under-pinning commercial contracts.
  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders, peers and colleagues.
  • Outstanding verbal, written & communication skills
  • Strong level of motivation and self-management.
  • Ability to understand complex principles and articulate in a clear and straightforward manner.
