After the core programme is delivered, now the focus has shifted to exploit the information gathered in the new data platform.
There are number of initiatives delivered in 2018 & 2019 to exploit the information and provide a right level analytics to the business teams.
This focus & delivery momentum is expected to continue in the coming months. We now have an open position for a dynamic business analyst to join a team of analysts and support the delivery of critical data & analytics initiatives.
The Specific Role Their Primary responsibilities will include : Engaging with existing and prospective users to understand and document their information needs predicated on an understanding of both business processes and the business decisions that users need to make Provide Analyst support to new and on-
going BI projects to enable them to meet their deadlines Working with IT colleagues to understand and document available data sources and their interrelation Collaborating with other team members to design solutions Collaborating with other team members to develop strong reconciliation and control processes Working with quality assurance to ensure that business requirements are met In general, this individual should demonstrate the highest levels of customer service, relevant knowledge, productivity, and professionalism.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong analyst skills and technical and business expertise. Business Analyst will possess excellent writing and documentation skills and the ability to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-
level information into details, distinguish user requests as presented from the true underlying needs, and design solutions meeting requirements.
Responsibilities Responsible for working with business and user group representatives to understand business decisions and the related reporting and analysis needs Requirements gathering, user interviews, running workshops, prototyping Document requirements in a format that is intelligible to both business partners and IT colleagues Analyse and document available data sources and data flows to standards and in a consistent manner Perform data analysis to validate requirements and the proposed functional solution Draft functional design documents with support from Solution Architect Collaborate with colleagues in designing solutions that meet the established business needs Work closely with the technical implementation and test team and provide functional oversight Act as a bridge between business, architects and technical implementation team.
Person Specification Experience & Qualifications Experience of fulfilling a BI Analyst role in the full life-cycle of a DW / BI project A good knowledge of commercial Insurance and (ideally) both reinsurance and the Lloyd’s Market Degree educated Experience of working in a multi-
