Working a 2 on 3 off rota , as a member of the maintenance team working in a onshore or offshore environment with specialist working knowledge of fiscal, allocation and environmental gas and liquid Metering Systems.

Offshore days 147 plus 7 days clawback


  • Work within site specific Safe systems of Work eg Permit to Work, Risk Assessment etc.
  • Significant understanding of process engineering, sampling, and control systems.
  • Have an in-depth knowledgeand understanding of the appropriate flow computer
  • Using and understanding of recognised calibration devices
  • Recognised specialist inkeay areas, (MPFM, Coriolis, USM, wet gas, differential pressure devices, water in oil etc), capable of using and applying expertise in field
  • Able to understand and apply knowledge of platform maintenance software to maximise best usage of the facilities contained.
  • Proficient in the set-up, configuration, operation and maintenance of bespoke measurement software.
  • Has been involved first hand in the set-up and commissioning of common types of measurement systems. Can identify and bring to a fully operational state a measurement system for ongoing operations and routine maintenance.
  • Able to create detiled and complex mis-measurement reports.
  • Demonstrate and document a full understanding of client expectations, delivery of work scope and provision of a service that fully meets client expectations.
  • Provision of technically defensible case for all options considered.
  • Delivery of information and reports to client or regulatory authorities.
  • Compliance with local standards and regulations and the commercial sensitivities of the clients operating environment.
  • Identification and application of measurement industry best practice, regardless of world area.
  • Securing Client commercially sensitive data or information.
  • Can identify key areas and lead an auditor on measurement audit or health checks. Pro-active in eliminating audit points of failure and in satisfying audit comments
  • Assessment (witness, observe and record) for SVQ level 3 submissions
  • Requirements

  • Broad range of experience as a Metering Specialist on fiscal, custody transfer metering in oil and gas industry on a number of contracts with in-
  • depth experience of quantity and quality measurements and Supervisory Computer and SCADA equipment currently in use.

  • Prior experience in 1 or more of the following : Tank farms; refineries; LNG plants; Gas Terminals etc
  • Is considered knowledgeable by peers and respected in the measurement industry. . Recognised as having technical ability or expertise across most measurement areas.
  • Comprehensive ability in both knowledge and practical ability on a wide range of mneasurement equipment.
  • The ability to complete regular and ad-hoc reports with confidence in area of influence or operation.
  • Ability to introduce ideas in a practical sense and has the ability to ensure understanding. Through mentor, sharing and coaching.
  • Presents options and solutions to end users drawing on a range of practical experience in typical measurement environments.
  • Can take direction but can be expected to adopt and act in a self disciplined manner. Can be stand alone and be self sufficient.
  • Deal effectively with pressure and conflicting priorities.
  • Detailed knowledge of industry standard word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Effective communicator
  • IT literate, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

  • It is essential that the job holder has a recognised, relevant trade qualification or ONC qualification or higher.
  • The job holder should have completed either a gas or liquid SVQ Level 3 in Measurement Processes option and it is desirable that the job holder is working towards the second SVQ Level 3 option in Measurement Processes.
