As an Architect within the architecture team, this individual will play a technical lead role. Primary responsibilities for the role include :
Architectural oversight for multiple components including systems providing engineering services to the enterprise. Examples of these services include Big Data development platform, DevOps frameworks and tools.
Leads the analysis, definition, design, and provides oversight for construction, testing, installation and modification across multiple large, interdependent systems.
Applies technical governance processes.
Partners with all stakeholders on large projects to provide architectural oversight throughout the life cycle of a project.
Participation in the agile process.
Regularly sharing knowledge with colleagues on technical topics.
Participation in design and code reviews.
Investigation and evaluation of new technologies.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualified candidates must possess the following
The ability to synthesize business requirements with technology capabilities to produce coherent technical designs.Excellent problem solving, data analysis, design, and development skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including expressive verbal and written communication skills.Self-starting and capable of working independently or in groups.
A quick learner, eager to leverage new technologies, and able to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent projects effectively.
Have a demonstrated ability of providing strong technical leadership on projects and a proclivity for generating innovative solutions.
Familiarity building automation and DevOps principlesAgile / Scrum / Kibana experienceComplete stack expertise (O / S, network, storage, h / w)Background in programming / scripting
Education and Experience
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of industry experience. A Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is desired.
5+ years of experience in enterprise-class system design and development.
5+ years of Java implementation experience.
Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Spark)
Experience with Scala development is a plus.
Experience in leading small technology teams is a plus.
Experience with content management systems is a plus.
Experience with Message Passing systems (IBM MQ), IBM WAS, FTP is a plus.
Experience with Kafka and cloud and cloud-hybrid experience is a plus.
