We want you to join our team and provide real opportunities for the people who use our day service to have fun, do new things, achieve their goals and to be fully part of their local community.

The Day Service Organiser role involves supporting adults with learning disabilities within our own Covid19 secure centre in Stevenage and in their local community.

  • You will enable the people who use our service to maximise and maintain their independence through planning and implementing activity programmes designed to meet their individual needs and aspirations as identified in their support plans.
  • You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills to ensure that the distribution of tasks is fair and efficient on a daily basis amongst the team, providing guidance and support as necessary to ensure completion.
  • You will be able to develop and maintain partnerships with local organisations to increase opportunities for people to undertake everyday activities and to access local communities.
  • You will provide personal care as identified in people‚Äôs individual support plans and will have excellent communication skills to build and maintain existing professional relationships with service users, family members, carers and other agencies.
  • You will be supportive and empathetic and will listen to and understand the needs, aspirations and rights of the people that we support.
  • This includes encouraging service users to be independent in their daily living activities and to take part in social and recreational activities.

  • You will model good practice and will provide guidance and support to junior staff.
  • You will be responsible for supervising staff members and will play a key role in Implementing all relevant HCC / HCS policies, guidelines and procedures and ensuring that these are followed by the staff team.
  • There will be medication duties that you will undertake which will include administering, recording, and supporting junior staff.
  • To apply you will need to be able to evidence your ability to undertake all of the key areas of the job identified above and also :

  • Your experience of supporting people with disabilities and that you have gained an NVQ / QCF level 2 qualification or equivalent and are willing to work towards an NVQ / QCF level 3.
  • You are confident in using computer systems to organise and record information clearly and accurately.
