Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA)

Equinix are looking for an Business Systems Analysts (BSA) to be part of a global IT Delivery team that supports and enhances Equinix’s world-

wide business processes and systems. The Finance BSA will focus on the Global Accounting) and Record to Report (R2R) functions, including Revenue Recognition and Consolidations business processes and technology.

BSAs will utilise their strong technical competencies and functional business expertise to identify, evaluate and develop systems and procedures that meet business user requirements.

To do this successfully they will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, and IT development to provide automated solutions.

An ability to understand finance process issues, design, document and communicate technical solutions to the EMEA Finance IT Manager is essential to the success in this role.

Responsibilities

Business Requirements Analysis

  • Partners with business stakeholders to analyse, define and document business requirements, within and across functional areas
  • Drives best practices during requirements gathering and modeling
  • Has a strong focus on gathering core requirements, beyond stated requirements and correctly places these within a broader context
  • Stakeholders Business Relationship Management

  • Understands Finance environment and helps to connect / align relevant business stakeholders roadmaps
  • Understands business environment and helps to connect / align relevant business stakeholders Stakeholder Management
  • Manages stakeholder expectations and communications within and beyond functional track
  • Knows business environment well enough to identify and proactively include the correct stakeholders
  • Solution Design

  • Interacts regularly with senior management level stakeholders, and demonstrates value from realized projects Solution Design
  • Working as part of a global IT organization centered in California USA, BSAs must have substantial communication, relationship building and influential skills that will allow them to gain confidence, understanding and support from their US counterparts in order to be perceived as part of the global but extended IT team
  • Responsible to design and document cross-functional and global solutions, drawing on functional expertise of functional and technical team members or vendors, as appropriate
  • Advises on solutions prepared by peers or supporting team, and champions good design practices Documentation
  • Create detailed functional design documents (mainly Configuration and Functional Design Documents) for setup, conversions, interfaces, and reports.
  • Coordinate with IT development teams to manage the development process and resolve issues
  • Documents and reviews broader team documentation

  • Supports team in identifying and defining relevant documentation templates pertaining to solution delivery
  • Develops functional designs for applications, integrations and conversions
  • Ability to work on multiple functional areas and integrations with third party products
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends and vendor capabilities to produce robust functional designs
  • Reviews functional designs and obtains sign-offs with the cross functional business and IT teams
  • Provides inputs into business processes based on design capabilities
  • Champions sustainable, forward-looking functional designs Architecture
  • Testing & Test Design

  • Prepare and execute testing plans to ensure high quality results
  • Coordinates integration testing, validates test cases with stakeholders for user acceptance testing and training, and obtains sign-offs
  • Coordinates defects clarification, triage and coordinate resolution with engineering teams
  • Designs forward looking configurations by recognising future needs aligned with the business roadmap
  • Configuration and Solution Delivery

  • Ability to Manage multiple application releases and projects
  • Manages / leads individual consulting resources as assigned
  • Designs release scope and schedule in line with business goal, prioritisation and IT capacity System Configurations
  • Configures applications in line with business goals
  • Develops configuration standards
  • Support and Sustaining Operations

  • Accounting and R2R Day to Day Support (Production Support)
  • Monitor implemented systems and processes to ensure high performance.
  • Manage support requests to ensure timely and thorough resolution of issues.
  • Supports and trains junior resources and oversees quality in triage and troubleshooting practices
  • Leads troubleshooting efforts on critical issues with cross functional teams through resolution
  • Identifies improvements to address repeat issues Training and Change Management
  • Prepares management communications and gets stakeholder input for recommendations and improvements
  • Key Systems Requirements

  • Vast experience in Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) R12 Financials (including SLA) is an essential requirement.
  • Experience on Oracle Cloud an advantage.
  • Experience on financial reporting and analysis tool GL wand an advantage.
  • Experience on Revenue Recognition business processes and technology such as RevPro is preferred.
  • Experience on Financial Consolidation business processes and technology such as Oracle HFM Hyperion is preferred.
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience is required
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required; Information Technology or related technical field is preferred
  • Accounting Qualification is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks
  • Other Skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills; including process documentation
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, task and project management, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with IT development staff on complex projects
  • Good understanding of finance principles and practices
  • Good analysis, project management, and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of other business systems analysts and cross functional peers to support deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
